ABOUT YOUR INFORMATION

Privacy, in plain words.

Last updated: October 15, 2026

AAC Talk is provided by missingSTEP. This page explains how our communication apps and this website handle your information.

Your communication board

Your boards, written phrases, selected photos, and settings are stored on your device. AAC Talk does not upload them to our servers. There are no app accounts, ads, analytics, or app-managed cloud synchronization. Your device’s operating system may back up app data according to your backup settings.

Photos and speech

Adding a photo to a button uses the image you select from your device. Speech uses your device’s voice capabilities. AAC Talk does not listen to your microphone or record audio. A suitable installed voice is needed for offline use.

Purchases

Apple or Google Play processes payments. AAC Talk does not receive your card details. The app uses purchase information supplied by the store to determine trial and unlock access. Each store’s own privacy policy applies.

Managing your information

You can edit or delete buttons and photos in the app. Deleting the app can also remove its local communication data. Restoring a purchase restores eligible access, not deleted boards or photos.

This website

This site has no ads, analytics tools, or account forms. Your language preference is saved in your browser. The interactive board uses example images; it does not access AAC Talk data on your device. If you turn sound on, the preview uses your browser and device’s speech service. The selected voice provider may process the spoken text. The hosting service serving this site may process ordinary technical logs, such as an IP address and request time.

Support and contact

If you choose to email us, your address and the information you include are used to respond to your support request. Nothing is sent automatically. For privacy or support questions, contact:
